Everyday Finds

Visual communication encounters us everywhere in everyday life. While waiting for the train, we see the posters on the opposite platform; at an appointment in hospital, the signage guides us to the right place; when reading on the Internet or in a printed newspaper, we are confronted with advertising of various kinds. In doing so, we constantly form an opinion, are touched positively or negatively, or perhaps a particular advertisement also prompts us to think.

This is precisely what interests us: When was the last time a designed communication medium, a poster, an advertisement, a logo, touched you emotionally or intellectually? Send us a photo of it and write one sentence explaining why this particular message or execution impressed you negatively or positively.

A selection of the submitted images will be shown in the digital showcase in the exhibition "Graphics. Designing the everyday".

“Would it be better to lie down after all? This sign caught my attention because it shows that pictograms can convey information in a small space that would be difficult to explain in just a few words. In addition, they are understandable regardless of language and therefore easily accessible to many people.” Photo: Jonas Howald
