Das Landesmuseum Zürich widmet 2024 seine grosse Herbstausstellung den kolonialen Verstrickungen der Schweiz. Die Ausstellung soll einen Beitrag zur Auseinandersetzung mit diesem bedeutenden Aspekt der Geschichte leisten und die Kontinuitäten bis heute, in den ehemaligen kolonisierten Gebieten und in der Schweiz, beleuchten.

In der thematischen Führung in der Dauerausstellung erwartet Sie eine Suche nach kolonialen Spuren, anhand derer auf verschiedene Aspekte des Schweizer Kolonialismus eingegangen wird.

Monique Ligtenberg

Monique Ligtenberg ist Historikerin und promoviert seit 2019 an der ETH Zürich. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Postcolonial Studies, Wissens- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte, globale und transnationale Geschichte sowie die moderne Geschichte Südostasiens. Sie ist zudem Mitgründerin des Stadtrundgangprojekts Zürich Kolonial.

Raphael Schwere

Raphael Schwere ist Sozialanthropologe und doktoriert, neben seinem Engagement in Ausstellungsprojekten, an der Universität Zürich zu Mensch-Tier-Beziehungen, materieller Kultur und praktischem Wissen.

The exhibition

Key-Visual der Ausstellung "Geschichte Schweiz"

The 1,000-m2 Swiss history exhibition depicts how Switzerland came to be over a period of 550 years. The tour through the centuries begins in the late Middle Ages and ends with the challenges facing democratic institutions in the present. The exhibition illustrates the journey from a confederation of states to a federal state as a struggle for identity. In addition, it crosses a time boundary that is often considered taboo for historical museums: It dares to examine contemporary history.
