Melody Gygax ist Cultural Swiss Agent der Fotografenagentur MAGNUM PHOTOS. Nach jahrelanger Erfahrung als Bildredaktorin und Bildchefin bei diversen Medien (zuletzt bei der Basler Zeitung) arbeitet sie heute als Photo Editor/Curator zusammen mit Brands, Werbeagenturen, Corporate Publishern, Fotogalerien, kulturellen Institutionen, Fotografinnen und Fotografen. Als Dozentin referiert sie mit Schwerpunkten auf den Bereichen Konzeption, Editing & Storytelling und Bildredaktion. Melody Gygax ist regelmässig Expertin bei Portfolio-Reviews und Jurymitglied bei Fotografie-Wettbewerben. Zuletzt amtete sie als Jurorin für den «Swiss Press Photo Award 2022».

«Swiss Press Photo 23» présente les meilleures photographies de presse suisses de l’année passée. Les clichés sélectionnés éclairent les gros titres et offrent un résumé de l’année 2022. L’exposition présente près de 130 images en lien avec des actualités comme la guerre en Ukraine ou les manifestations pour le climat, des scènes du quotidien lors de la canicule en Suisse, des portraits captivants ou encore des moments sportifs forts. Véritable tradition au Musée national, observer le monde à travers l’objectif prouve encore et toujours que malgré l’abondance des images numériques, les photographies n’ont rien perdu de leur force.
