Die Erzählung von der Geburt Jesus im Stall in Betlehem ist auf der ganzen Welt bekannt. Seit vielen Jahrhunderten werden diese Szene sowie weitere Teile der Geschichte in mannigfaltiger Weise dargestellt. Auf der Führung sind verschiedene Krippendarstellungen sowie Altarbilder zum Weihnachtsthema zu sehen.

The exhibition

From oxen, donkeys and sheep to camels, elephants and flamingos – nativity scenes can feature all sorts of animals depending on where they’re from. The traditional exhibition at the National Museum Zurich presents cribs from all over the world and this year takes a closer look at the animals and what they symbolise.
