Happy You Have Rights Day - The beginnings of the Federal Constitution, 1848–1891

Intermediate level (from 6th grade) | secondary levels I and II

The introduction of the Constitution in the 19th century was characterised by conflict. How was it possible to achieve more democratic rights? Who was allowed to participate in politics? This tour offers a playful experience to four basic rights: privacy protection, civil rights, freedom of opinion and the media, and procedural rights.

Interactive tour: 1.5 hours

Guided tours are free of charge for school classes from Switzerland.

Note: We recommend taking interactive tours on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Tuesdays to Fridays at 9 a.m., since admission to the exhibition at these times is reserved for guided tours.

Guided tours in English can be arranged, even outside opening hours. Guided tours are free of charge for school classes from Switzerland.
